SOFX.NET Email Client Setup Guide

You can access your SOFX.NET mailbox anytime through our secure webmail portal by simply logging in with your credentials. Open SOFX.NET Mail Portal

However, if you want to use your favorite email client app, (Apple Mail, Outlook, or another app) this guide will help you configure SOFX.NET email to work seamlessly with them.

This document walks you through the necessary steps and settings to get your SOFX.NET email account up and running in the mailbox app of your choice.

Apple Mail Setup

Mail App on iPhone

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone (this is not the Mail app itself).
2. Scroll down and select Mail from the list of apps.
3. Tap Accounts, then select Add Account.
4. Select Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
5. Enter the following details:

• Name: Your full name (this is how your name will appear to recipients).
• Email: Your complete sofx.net email address (e.g., yourname@sofx.net).
• Password: Your Sofx.net password.
• Description: A label for this account (e.g., “SOFX Mail”).

6. Tap Next. Select IMAP at the top of the screen.
   
7. Enter the server settings:
   
   • Incoming Mail Server (IMAP):
     • Host Name: mail.sofx.net
     • Username: Your full Sofx.net email address
     • Password: Your Sofx.net password
     • Port: 993
     • Encryption: SSL required
       
   • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
     • Host Name: mail.sofx.net
     • Username: Your full Sofx.net email address
     • Password: Your Sofx.net password
     • Port: 465
     • Encryption: SSL required
       
8. Tap Next, then choose which data (Mail, Notes, etc.) you want to sync.
9. Tap Save to complete the setup.

Mail App on Mac

1. Open the Mail app on your Mac.
2. Click Mail in the top left menu bar, then select Add Account….
3. Choose Other Mail Account…, then click Continue.
4. Enter your Name, Sofx.net email, and Password, then click Sign In.
5. Select IMAP as the account type.
6. Enter the server settings:

• Email Address and Username: Your full Sofx.net email address
• Password: Your Sofx.net password
• Incoming Server: mail.sofx.net (Port 993, SSL required)
• Outgoing Server: mail.sofx.net (Port 465, SSL required)

7. Click Sign In, then choose which data to sync and click Done.

Outlook App Setup

Outlook on PC

1. Open Outlook and click File in the top left.
2. Select Account Settings 
3. Click New, enter your Sofx.net email address.
4. Click the arrow (Advanced Options) and check Let me set up my account manually, then click Connect.
5. Select IMAP as the account type.
6. Enter the server settings:

• Incoming Mail Server:
  • Server: mail.sofx.net
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL required
• Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
  • Server: mail.sofx.net
  • Port: 465
  • Encryption: SSL required
• Username: Your full Sofx.net email address
• Password: Your Sofx.net password

7. Click Next, enter your password again if prompted, and click Connect.

Outlook on Android

1. Open the Outlook app and tap the profile icon in the top left corner.
2. Tap the + (Add Account) button.
3. Enter your Sofx.net email address, tap Continue.
4. If a Microsoft 365 or other login screen appears, tap Back.
5. Select IMAP as the account type.
6. Enter the server settings:

• Email Address: Your full Sofx.net email
• Display Name: Your name (this will show in outgoing messages)
• IMAP Hostname: mail.sofx.net (Port 993, SSL required)
• IMAP Username: Your Sofx.net email
• IMAP Password: Your password
• SMTP Hostname: mail.sofx.net (Port 465, SSL required)
• SMTP Username: Your Sofx.net email
• SMTP Password: Your password

7. Tap Sign In.

Outlook on Iphone

1. Open Outlook app, tap the house icon, then the mail icon with the + button.
2. Select Add Email Account, enter your Sofx.net email, and tap Add Account.
3. If a Microsoft login page appears, tap Cancel.
4. Select Not Microsoft 365, then Change Account Provider, then IMAP.
5. Enter the server settings (same as Android):

• IMAP Hostname: mail.sofx.net (Port 993, SSL required)
• IMAP Username & Password: Your Sofx.net email and password
• SMTP Hostname: mail.sofx.net (Port 465, SSL required)
• SMTP Username & Password: Your Sofx.net email and password

6. Tap Sign In.

Outlook on Mac

1. Open Outlook, select Outlook > Settings > Accounts.
2. Click + > Add an Account, enter your Sofx.net email, and click Continue.
3. If a Microsoft login page appears, close it.
4. Select Not Microsoft 365?, then IMAP/POP.
5. Enter:

• Email and Username: Your Sofx.net email
• Password: Your Sofx.net password
• Incoming Server: mail.sofx.net (Port 993, SSL required)
• Outgoing Server: mail.sofx.net (Port 465, SSL required)

6. Click Add Account.

General IMAP Setup for Other Email Clients

If you’re using another app (Thunderbird, K-9 Mail, BlueMail, etc.):

• Account Type: IMAP
• Incoming Mail Server (IMAP): mail.sofx.net
  • Port: 993
  • Encryption: SSL required
• Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mail.sofx.net
  • Port: 465
  • Encryption: SSL required
• Username: Your full Sofx.net email address
• Password: Your Sofx.net password
